we owe someone donuts

Darren owes grandad lots of donuts. our garden will never look the same once grandad leaves. Currently the grass is cut, the weeds pulled out, the hedges trimmed, and even the fence painted. I promise I will make darren keep it up!! Dylan wanted to help grandad in the garden today, but was upset when we told him he was too little. We went for a nice walk around the neighborhood instead. Kids looked super cute in their new hats. The weather has been so perfect, I'm hoping it will entice nana and grandad to stay longer.
We are still working on the kids sleep schedules. Naps seem to get a bit easier and not much of a fight, except for 30min sophie. Night times seem to have gotten worse. Don't know why, but I hope things will get better tonight!! Tomorrow off to get the passports. (hopefully we don't run into nasty passport lady again)

sophie has a learned a new trick, to get attention she pretends to cough. its a sad cough!! It is just so darn cute you cant help but laugh. i have tried to catch her on video, but the cough magically goes away!
I also believe sophie has a little sleep timer set for 30 min. Each afternoon when put down for a nap exactly 30min later on the dot she awakes. she is such a pretty princess, I guess she doesn't need much beauty sleep!!

We are working nana and grandad to the bone. Poor sleep deprived nana has been helping me with the twins (who now refuse to sleep at night)and poor grandad has been slaving in the garden, and now darren has him painting a fence. (one of darrens chores from last year). The fence looks awsome, THANKS grandad! They are going to need a vacation from their vacation!

While nana has been looking after the twins, I finally got a chance to cook....something i really miss since having the twins. I started pretty easy, made a frozen keylime pie from scratch. yummy!! Now on to my new slow cooker mom got me for christmas....chicken and rosemary...sound good!

Early this morning (7:00) went to my bellaire mother of multiples garage sale. I scored some awesome deals, and it also reminded me that having twins really isn't that bad....i could of had triplets. This poor mom was trying to buy up lots of goodies for her triplets who will be born in june. When I don't get enough rest, i will have to remember her! After rummaging around I got a baby Bjorn carrier for 15$, lots of fun books, and a bath chair.
We all are still having a great time with nana and grandad. This afternoon we went to katy mills mall and went shopping. I love shopping for such cute baby clothes. I am enjoying playing dress up with them, it wont belong before they want to pick out their own clothes. Got some really good deals at gymboree and oshkosh. Thank goodness nana and grandad were there to help us out. Shopping can be a chore with the twins.
Tomorrow, I plan on catching up on some chores around the house and taking it easy. Maybe cook something yummy??? hmmmmm....

annoyed!! Why is it when you go to the post office there is only one person working and they have a horrible attitude! Post office people (especially the lady doing passports today) STINK!!!
Long story short, didn't get the kids passports, changed a super stinky diaper in the parking lot, listened to alot of screaming in the car. ahhhhh! Hope you enjoyed your lunch post office lady instad of doing my kids passports!!!

Tomorrow will be better, going to the bellaire moms of multiples garage sale to get lots of goodies!

Dylan and Sophie are having so much fun, they don't want to sleep at night! I cant blame them....they love their cuddles, kisses and hugs with nana and grandad.

Today, we had grandad working hard for us in the garden, it has never looked so nice. He sure is a pro (he didn't even poke out his eye, hahahaha darren!). Nana has been such a big help with everything, this week has been so easy and i have been catching up on some well needed rest. I'm wishing they could stay longer!! Thank you so much for everything! Tomorrow, more fun with nana and grandad and off to get passports for the kiddos...yup that's right we will be taking them to wales. Are we crazy?? 2 babies on a 7hr flight...yup I think were crazy!!

They are here!!! Had a few bumps in the road getting here, but we are so glad they are here. Dylan and Sophie couldnt sleep last night, they were so excited nana and grandad were here to play with them. The weather is awsome, even the azalea's came out to greet nana and grandad. So excited to have a fun week.

Poor darren, injured his eye while gardening. Who knew gardening could almost poke your eye out! He is doing well now resting, doctor says he will be ok and he will survive...more importantly it wont prohibit him changing diapers or help with feedings at 4am. HA HA HA! Going to work today and tomorrow, its the 1st time I have worked two days in a row since before the babies were born (Aug??). I haven't even left the house yet and I am already missing Dylan and Sophie!! They better not do anything too cute while I'm gone. Hope today and tomorrow go by fast. :(

Fun at the Zoo

Reminder... go to the zoo anytime EXCEPT for spring break. It took me a good 30min to park, and I didn't even park at the zoo, had to park at Ben Taub Hospital!! The zoo was really crowded, but all in all had an awesome time. The weather was perfect, and dylan and sophie loved being with their friends(baby leo, baby aeriana, and baby leah). It was quite a site having 4 strollers roll around during the chaos of spring break.
Today just getting ready for nana and grandad to arrive! Hopefully dylan and sophie will take good naps so I can get some good cleaning in.

Poor babies got their 6month jabs today. I think I was more upset then they were. They sure looked super sad. On a better note, doctor says they are growing well and doing great. Dylan weighed 15lbs 14oz and he is in 21% of growth percentile based on weight for age. Sophie weighed 14lbs 4oz and she is in 17.37% of growth percentile based on weight for age. Sounds scrawny but my arms tell a different story. All in all things went well at the doctors office, thanks in part to nanny who was here today to help out. 2 screaming kids can be very overwhelming. Here is to hoping they feel better tomorrow. If the weather is good, gonna treat them to their 1st zoo trip!

6months ago today, at 5:27(sophie) and 5:28pm(dylan), I gave birth to the most beautiful babies in the whole world!! I cannot believe how time has flown by. I am so proud to be their mom!!

To celebrate their 6months we had carrots for dinner. YUMMY!!

WOW what a weekend. So glad I married a Welshmen, their mothers day was this past Sunday, so I get to celebrate 2 mothers days!! Happy Mum's day to all mums, and especially to Darren's mom! Brenda is the best mum-n-law a girl can have. She is so sweet, understanding and loves us tonz!! Sorry we couldn't be in wales to celebrate with her, but she is coming for a visit next Monday for 2 weeks!!! The kids are going to be so excited to see their nana and grandad!
A shout out to cousin Paul (in Manchester) who had a birthday this past week...I hope he had fun and didn't get into too much trouble!!! I told him to have a drink for me, but I figured he had way more than just one drink, hahahah! Happy bday PAUL!!

Got some well deserved REST...thanks to the best hubby ever! Got lots of laundry finally washed...yup its washed but not put up!! Went by the new house site, still looks like dirt....so hopefully they will begin something soon. WE NEED MORE SPACE.
Kids are doing great and actually sleeping better. Their 6month checkup is on Wed, and they are up for more jabs..boo hoo!! poor dylan and sophie. The weather here has been AWESOME!! I have the windows open and letting the sunshine in! Fresh air in the house is always good when you change at least 10-15 dirty diapers a day! Tilda and Tator are sunbathing on the patio, LIFE IS GOOD!! I am definitely a little more relaxed and ready to face the week! I might even have enough strength to take the kids to the zoo. :P

When will they sleep??

SO....I was up all night long with Dylan. (12:30-4am) I'm not sure what is wrong...could he be teething??? does his stomach hurt??? does he just want to cuddle with his mom?? Nothing I did last night seem to work!! This motherhood thing is HARD!!! Dylan is a good nap taker today..... hmmmm could that be because he doesn't want to sleep at night. Sophie is a horrible nap taker today......hmmm could that be because she sleeps from 7pm to 6am?? I couldnt have gotten totally opposite kids on totally different schedules, BUT I WOULDN'T CHANGE THEM FOR THE WORLD!!!
Missing darren today, he is hard at work trying to find more oil!!! I will be off to work tomorrow...so I hope dylan will give his mom a break so I don't go to work looking like a zombie!

1st post

Alright, so I gave into facebook...and now will give in to this. I guess you can call this the modern day diary...except everyone can read it. I have been reading others blogs and found it funny and cute and entertaining..... so here it goes!!
This really is for and for ma maw, pa paw, nana and grandad who cant be here to share this crazy life in Houston, and whom ever would like to see what insanity 5month old twins can bring!!
So today, I am actually getting a break...THANKYOU nanny josephine!! Dylan and Sophie are growing so big, the are starting to discover new things, it is so exciting!! Dylan has to grab, pull, yank, throw, smash everything insight....actually funny story....went to check on nanny josephine she had her weave in her hand. Yup thats right Dylan pulled her weave out!! I couldn't help but laugh, and thank god nanny thought it was funny too!! Sophie is growing like a weed, she has found her toes this week and is obsessed with sticking them in her mouth!!
Nothing too exciting today....will be missing nanny tomorrow!!!
