Cool Oklahoma creatures

So I knew it was coming....the COLD. Our first frost of the year is supposed to be tonight. I'm so not looking forward to this thing they call winter. I'm so missing Houston right now...and their 94 degree day they had today. So babies are in their warmest jammies and I have made Darren make sure the heating was on, now if I can just get Matilda and Tator to wear their sweaters :)

So besides golf balls in our backyard (which the total has increased to 6) we have lots of cool creatures. Some scary (spiders, crickets and slugs) and some not so scary (bunny rabbits-who eat my flowers!!)

I took a picture of this cool butterfly, this was the best shot I got before he was off to where dogs don't try to chase him.

Since we have pretty big windows, I knew it was just a matter of time before something crashed into one of them. This poor birdy was our first victim... I thought I wound name him PETEY -(THIS WAS FOR YOU CHRISTY, JESSICA AND SARAH -inside joke). Luckily I rounded up the dogs before they got to poor Petey. He sat on this ledge for at least 1hr, I was waiting for him to keel over but Petey was a SURVIVOR! I tried to take him some bread to eat, but before I could put it on the ledge he flew off!! GO PETEY GO!!

Right after the incident

Petey makes a recovery

This afternoon I spotted this hot air balloon flying over the houses on the opposite side of the golf course from us.

So in midst of all the craziness here, we are hunkering down for the cold. Wish us luck!!

meet our rug

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEREMY!!! Wishing you have a great time in San Fransisco. Lots of love to my equally favorite little brother.

So I'm still trying to organize things around the house, a chore that I think will never get done. We haven't done any furniture buying, but we did find this amazing rug to go in Darren's new office. So as of now...we have a rug. HA HA! Mom and Dad should be coming this weekend so I look forward to doing some shopping with out the crazy little ones around :)

I went to a job fair this past week and actually got two job offers, one for occasional part time (1 shift every month), or part time (2 shifts a week). Unfortunately cant really take either one until we get the whole nanny thing figured out. Which I am hoping is VERY VERY soon!

Meanwhile the kids are still having fun outside while the weather is nice.
Matilda and her new friends "Gus and Butch"

yes that is a golf ball in Sophie's hand. She is our new golf ball finder :)
These Oklahoma folks must not be very good at golf :)

WE ARE WALKING

Sophie's video is of her 1st steps about 1month ago. Dylan started walking about 2 weeks ago. They are growing up SO fast!

Loving the outside

oh what a life Matilda has
She just loves her new backyard

Tator loves it too :)

So far we have found these in our backyard. Luckily one didn't hit the window. I guess that's what you get for living off a golf course :)

Sophie and Dylan are loving the backyard too.

Sophie wasn't so sure about the grass at first

Her hair is getting so long, and she keeps taking her bow out. Poor kid probably cant see where she is going

Dylan loves kicking the ball around with his daddy

So far the weather is perfect here...this Oklahoma thing isn't so bad after all!

PS--A HUGE thanks to JESSICA CRIST--I know you read this. Thanks for all of the advice!! We need to meet up soon!

Earthquakes??

So apparently I was either too busy with the dogs, the kids, the laundry, unpacking or god knows what else to notice we had a earthquake on Wednesday.

Posted by Picasa

THIS IS FROM THE LOCAL PAPER
OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Geological Survey says two small aftershocks have been reported and more are possible following an earthquake that rattled parts of the state.
Survey officials also reported Thursday that they had lowered their magnitude estimate of the earthquake from 5.1 to 4.7 after additional analysis was done. The U.S. Geological Survey estimated the magnitude of Wednesday's quake to be 4.3.
Officials say the earthquake is considered to be small to moderate in size.
The quake struck at 9:06 a.m. and was centered about eight miles southeast of Norman. Officials say the tremor was felt in much of the state and as far away as Wichita, Kan., and Dallas.

REALLY???
so not only do I have to worry about tornado's I have to worry about earthquakes too??

a little mix of everything

I have finally started downloading my camera and came across these pictures...I forgot how far behind in blogging I was. So this post is a hodge podge of things that happened this last month or so.

DOUBLE TROUBLE

Sophie and her many silly faces, she is such a character

Dylan having a bad hair day

The kids favorite breakfast---

Rachel came over with baby lachlan during our last week in Houston. The kids loved him. He is so cute!

On nanny Josiephines last day we took her out for lunch.

Sophie loves sharing her food

Dylan not so big on sharing his food....maybe that's why he is so chunky!

My last day at St lukes hospital. I'm really gonna miss this place. Sorry this picture is fuzzy, it was taken with my phn after I had worked a long hard 12hrs. I wont miss the 12hr shift part :)

On our way to Oklahoma

Kids in their new car seats

a silly Sophie face :)

Poor Sophie and her rash..this was just the beginning it got so bad. She is all better now and even crazier than ever.

Dylan is the MESSIEST eater ever. Darren snapped this photo at lunch. and yes that is a big piece of ham on his head. I swear this boy needs a bath every time he eats. boys will be boys I guess

so this is what I have been doing this week...

This is our dining room filled with empty boxes the movers will come back and pick up. Sad part I have about 1million more boxes to go.

Gonna give unpacking a rest this weekend, time for some furniture shopping. :)

we are here

we are finally here and just now starting to get things to normal. The drive here was HORRIBLE a total of 8hrs all by myself with the babies!! sophie was sick, dylan was grumpy and I swear if I hear another yo gabba gabba song I will go INSANE! But we made it.

We have officially been in Oklahoma for about 5days now. THANKGOD for mom coming down to help us with the move. THANKYOU for all of your help. She even watched the kids so darren and I could have date night. I guess we were missing texas..we had dinner at the Texas Roadhouse. ha ha!
It has been such a chore trying to get things organized and put away, we have a long way to go. But thanks to mom the kitchen is at least organized and tidy.

The babies are anxious about the new place and their new rooms (I split them up 2 nights ago). Dylan doesnt seem to care much, poor sophie has had a couple of restless nights.
Dogs are loving it and have even found new friends next door two labs. They enjoy running around crazy excited in their 5000sq feet of fun.
We have already made it to the emergency room once (poor sophie was allergic to her ear infection medicine)she had a horrible rash but is getting better now.

So despite getting off to a rough start, we are happy to call this home. The temperature is gorgeous during the day, night gets a little cold (40-50's) I think we are the only ones who have actually turned on the heater :) Our neighbors have been so nice and friendly we even got some homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Today the kids and I decided to go visit daddy at work and have lunch with him. His coworkers were really nice and they all loved seeing sophie and dylan.

Better get going only about 30more min left for sophie and dylans nap, better get some more boxes unpacked. ahhhhhhh!!
